Patrick Mahomes reportedly pleased with Chiefs’ coaching addition
The Kansas City Chiefs this week brought in a coach who will be familiar to Patrick Mahomes, and that is apparently great news to the quarterback.
The Chiefs hired former Chicago Bears coach Matt Nagy as quarterbacks coach this week. Nagy was the offensive coordinator for the Chiefs during Mahomes’ first season, which saw him back up Alex Smith. That level of familiarity is apparently good news for Mahomes, who according to CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson is a big fan of the hire.
Things in Kansas City are going to be quite interesting to keep an eye on right after the NFL Combine & next season…Matt Nagy’s addition will not only prove to be good timing to handle the upcoming allocation of duties….but also is very well-received by Patrick Mahomes. #Chiefs

Nagy struggled as coach of the Bears, but came into that job with solid credentials from his time in Kansas City. He will get the chance to re-establish that, although Mahomes is far from the quarterback that Nagy tutored back in 2016.
Mahomes will have the comfort of his offensive coordinator returning in 2022 as well. He’ll be well-equipped for a run at another Super Bowl.
