Patrick Mahomes was filled with gratitude after getting through Week 1 unscathed.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback got through his first full game on Monday since suffering a torn ACL and LCL last December. While Mahomes looked rusty at times, the two-time MVP was effective enough to lead the Chiefs to a 31-10 win at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.
After the game, Mahomes expressed his appreciation for being on the field again and had a message for Chiefs fans.
“Want to give all glory and thanks to God! Letting me be out there doing what i love again! ChiefsKingdom this is just the start see yall next week!” Mahomes posted on X.

Mahomes went 15/27 for 184 yards, 2 touchdowns, and an interception. Perhaps the most encouraging moment of the night for Chiefs fans came when Mahomes scrambled to score the game’s first touchdown from 15 yards out.

The goal seemed extremely ambitious at the time. But the three-time Super Bowl champion put in the work to make it a reality.
