Report: Paxton Lynch could start for Broncos in Week 10

Paxton Lynch

Paxton Lynch is working his way back from a shoulder injury but could be ready to start soon for the Denver Broncos, according to a report.

Denver has been dissatisfied with the play of quarterback Trevor Siemian and decided to start Brock Osweiler in Week 9 at Philadelphia. But CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora says the team would love to get a look at Lynch and be able to evaluate him before the end of the season.

Lynch was the Broncos’ No. 26 overall pick in the draft last year. He saw action in three games, going 49 of 83 for 497 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. The Broncos really haven’t had a solid look at him at quarterback and want to see what he can do.

The second-year player from Memphis has missed valuable practice reps this season while recovering from his shoulder injury. He also has faced questions about his motivation and character.

La Canfora believes that if the Broncos’ offense struggles against the Eagles, Denver could look to make a move to Lynch.
