Randy Gregory changes agents as he awaits NFL decision
Randy Gregory is hoping to become eligible to play for the Dallas Cowboys again as soon as possible, and he has made a change in representation as he awaits the latest decision from the NFL.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Gregory has parted ways with agent Steve Weinberg and hired Peter Schaffer.
As he works his way back from indefinite suspension for a violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy, #Cowboys DE Randy Gregory has made an agent change. He’s now repped by agent Peter Schaffer after parting ways with Steve Weinberg.

A report from earlier this month stated that Gregory is hoping the NFL will allow him to participate in training camp and preseason games. He will almost certainly be suspended for a portion of the regular season, though the NFL has only announced that he is banned indefinitely and has not reached a decision on the specific length of the latest suspension.
Gregory’s latest suspension is his fourth since he came into the NFL back in 2015, but he supposedly has not had any slip-ups since the punishment was handed down five months ago. The former Nebraska star played in 14 games last season after he was reinstated in July 2018. He had missed 30 of 32 possible games during his first two NFL seasons. Gregory has violated the NFL’s substance abuse policy multiple times and was suspended for the entire 2017 season. His history of getting into trouble off the field dates back to before the Cowboys drafted him in the second round.
Perhaps he is hoping Schaffer has some pull with the league office that his former agent didn’t.
