Former first-round pick Josh Doctson may have already played in his last game for the Washington Redskins.
Ben Standig of The Athletic reported on Monday that the Redskins are believed to have lost faith in the 26-year-old wide receiver and would like trade him before their regular season opener on Sept. 8.
Doctson, the ex-All-American, had 532 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 15 games for the Redskins last year. In three NFL seasons now, Doctson has failed to establish himself as anything more than a replacement-level wideout.
Washington is thin at receiver with Paul Richardson, Terry McLaurin, and Trey Quinn penciled in as starters. But it has been a summer of trade rumors for the team, and now Doctson finds himself in the crosshairs as well.
