Refs have rough time with Caleb Sturgis field goal call

The NFL’s referees are getting back in the swing of things, too.

After Philadelphia Eagles kicker Caleb Sturgis missed a 46 yard attempt, the officials weren’t quite on the same page as to whether the kick went through or not.

While obviously not as important and controversial, the image itself brings back memories of the replacement refs. Hey, NFL referees need time to get themselves up to speed, too. And in this instance, they did get it right in the end, so it goes down as an amusing moment rather than a potentially controversial talking point.
