Rex Ryan zings Pete Carroll in response

Rex Ryan

Rex Ryan did not appreciate Pete Carroll telling him to worry about his own players, so he decided to respond on Tuesday.

Carroll was asked during his weekly spot on “Brock and Salk” on 710 ESPN in Seattle Tuesday about the exchange between Ryan and Richard Sherman during the third quarter of “Monday Night Football.” After an interception, Sherman taunted Ryan, who responded by telling Sherman not to behave in such ways.

Carroll said Ryan should worry about his Bills players rather than Seattle’s.

“I just wish he’d coach his own team,” Carroll said. “Just coach your own guys.”

Later in the day, Ryan was asked for a response to Carroll, and said he does coach his own guys.

“I do coach my own guys but I forgot, I guess I should have asked Pete when somebody asked me a question about one of his players, I should have asked Pete about the appropriate response I guess.”

Point, Rex Ryan. His response makes perfect sense. And there is one thing Carroll is leaving out: Ryan never initiated the interaction with Sherman; that was all started by the Seahawks DB.

Had Sherman not taunted Ryan to begin with, there wouldn’t be anything to talk about.
