Rex Ryan’s postgame press conference was very, very sad (Video)

The New York Jets’ already ugly 2014 season got just a little bit uglier on Thursday night, and Rex Ryan did not take it well.

After the Jets lost to the Miami Dolphins in part because of a late-game turnover by Geno Smith, Ryan told reporters he felt “sick” over his team’s 2-10 record. He looked like he was on the brink of tears during his postgame press conference.

Rex-Ryan-crying

“I can’t believe we’re 2-10,” Ryan said. “What a joke. … I feel sick. We can’t buy a win.”

With Smith starting at quarterback over Michael Vick again, the Jets decided to roll out an offense that you may have seen at your local high school game on Thanksgiving Day. They threw the ball just 13 times and ran it 49. The approach kept the game close, but the end result was the same.

This is obviously going to be Ryan’s last year in New York, and he might take a break from coaching. There have been rumors that he is interested in becoming a TV analyst, and one report claims Rex is already getting plenty of interest from TV executives.

The Jets should give serious consideration to putting Ryan out of his misery. It’s going to be a long final month of the season no matter what they do.
