Controversial WR Robbie Chosen getting chance with NFC team
The (Robbie) Chosen One is getting an opportunity with a new NFC team.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Monday that free agent wide receiver Robbie Chosen will be participating in minicamp for the Seattle Seahawks this week. It will be on a tryout basis as Chosen attempts to make the Seattle roster, Pelissero adds.
The 31-year-old Chosen, an eight-season NFL veteran, is known more so for his various antics than his football skills at this point. He has had a litany of name changes over the last several years (from Robby Anderson to Robbie Anderson to Chosen Anderson and now to Robbie Chosen). On top of that, Chosen infamously had a sideline outburst as a member of the Carolina Panthers in 2022 that led to him being traded.
Last season with the Miami Dolphins, Chosen appeared in just nine games and caught four passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. But he is only a few years removed from a 1,096-yard season with the Panthers in 2020. The Seahawks, who recently signed an ex-Chosen teammate in Carolina, will now try to kick the tires on the wideout.
