Robert Griffin III hopes people give Art Briles second chance
Former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III wants to see his former college coach get a second chance in the minds of football fans.
Art Briles was controversially hired as coach at Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, Texas, three years after losing his job at Baylor over his failure to report or deal with sexual assaults among football players.

Many were not pleased with Briles getting another opportunity, but Griffin, who played for him in college, urged people to give him a second chance to prove his character.
I understand why it’s not always a good look to support someone tied to such a sensitive scandal. CAB is family & I’ve been praying he gets a second chance to prove himself and I’m hopeful people will also give him a second chance to prove that what happened isn’t who he is

Briles was so toxic that the CFL wouldn’t have him, so it’s fair to say the disdain for him among many fans runs deep. Griffin obviously enjoyed playing for him, but he’s unlikely to find a widely accepting audience for his pleas.
