Jon Ryan has been with the Seattle Seahawks for the majority of his career, but the punter decided this offseason that he wants to move on to greener pastures. On Monday, the team granted him his wish.
Ryan took to Twitter to thank the Seahawks for the “amazing memories” he has made over the past decade.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Ryan had asked the Seahawks to release him.
Ryan and his wife were fan favorites in Seattle thanks in part to their great sense of humor. The 36-year-old has averaged 44.7 yards per punt throughout his career, and he should be able to find work with a team that is in need of a veteran at the position heading into Week 1.
