Sean McVay is not too thrilled about the San Francisco 49ers’ addition of Trent Williams.
The Niners on Saturday acquired Williams in a trade with Washington for a 2020 fifth and 2021 third-round pick. The trade gives San Francisco a left tackle after Joe Staley retired.
So what does McVay think? The Los Angeles Rams head coach joked that San Francisco’s addition would lead him to drink.
"I'm so fired up for them… I need to go drink a couple more beers," – Sean McVay says, when asked about his former player in Washington – LT Trent Williams – joining the 49ers.

The Rams were the big dogs in the NFC West two years ago and made the Super Bowl, going 13-3. The 49ers went 4-12 that same year. But last year, the Rams were 9-7 while the 49ers went 13-3 and reached the Super Bowl. Maybe this is another sign to McVay about how tables have turned between the teams.
