Sean Payton’s history with pass interference is well-documented. His complaints over the awful non-called interference in the NFC Championship helped bring about reviewable interference calls, and then the NFL upheld the vast majority of those reviews.
So when the New Orleans Saints finally won a pass interference challenge on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, everyone wanted Payton’s reaction. And Payton did not disappoint after the game.
Payton on finally getting a PI challenge to go his way: "That's like a hard eight in Vegas, huh? Right? That was nice. I thought it was the right (call). I was appreciative of it. There's my birthday gift."

The Saints have actually been on the wrong end of a review overturn this year, much to Payton’s fury. The replay system definitely hasn’t worked as Payton likely envisioned it would, but he got one here. Maybe it’s a good omen for the playoffs.
