The Seattle Seahawks are finally being sold, and the price will set a new record for a sports franchise.
A group led by San Francisco 49ers limited partner Vinod Khosla has reached an agreement to purchase the Seahawks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Seth Wickersham. The reported purchase price is $9.6 billion.

The Seahawks have been controlled by a trust since previous owner Paul Allen died in 2018. They were finally put up for sale in February shortly after the team won the Super Bowl.
Originally, there had been speculation that the Seahawks might sell for over $10 billion, but interest in the franchise turned out to be a bit more limited than initially anticipated. Still, a $9.6 billion sale price obliterates the previous record, which was the $6.05 billion paid for the Washington Commanders.
Khosla, 71, initially purchased a small share of the 49ers in May 2025. He will have to sell that share in order to purchase the Seahawks.
