Shedeur Sanders on Friday stayed grateful despite continuing to slide in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Sanders, who went undrafted after Thursday’s first round, was largely expected to hear his name called during rounds two and three the following day. But 70 more picks passed without a single team selecting the Colorado quarterback.
As teams continued to pass on him, Sanders shared a five-word post on social media.
“Thank you GOD for EVERYTHING,” Shedeur wrote on X.

Two quarterbacks, Miami’s Cam Ward (1st) and Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart (25th), went ahead of Sanders in the first round. On Friday, three more QBs — Louisville’s Tyler Shough (40th), Alabama’s Jalen Milroe (92nd), and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel (94th) — got picked. Two teams previously believed to be possible landing spots for Shedeur, the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns, drafted Shough and Gabriel, respectively.
Sanders’ continued free fall has been a stunning outcome for a prospect once considered a potential first-overall pick. NFL draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. ranked Sanders as the best quarterback in the 2025 crop of passers. Kiper even issued a warning to the Saints, whom he predicts will deeply regret passing on Shedeur.
Only time will tell if Sanders’ slide was warranted or not.
