Steelers to interview notable name for offensive coordinator position
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive coordinator search is leading them to a fairly notable name.
Former Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith will interview for the Steelers offensive coordinator job, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Smith has been out of a job since the Falcons fired him earlier this month.

This certainly suggests that the Steelers are willing to think big as they look for a new offensive coordinator. The offense was a major issue for them in 2023, with the unit’s struggles leading to the unusual midseason firing of Matt Canada.
Smith was praised for his work as Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator before landing the Falcons job, but his work in Atlanta drew a lot of criticism due to his odd usage of some of his dynamic skill players. Still, considering how shaky Pittsburgh was last year, he might represent a big improvement anyway.
