Steelers reportedly have not heard from Le’Veon Bell despite cryptic tweet
Le’Veon Bell may have dropped a strong hint that he is finally getting ready to report to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but that would apparently be news to the team.
Bell has spent much of his time in Miami while continuing his holdout, and a tweet he sent on Monday left many believing the star running back is close to heading back to work.

If that is Bell’s intention, he has not conveyed it to the Steelers. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that team officials still had not heard from Bell as of Monday evening.
Even though Le’Veon Bell tweeted “Farewell Miami”, the Steelers still haven’t heard from him and their focus remains the same with the players and coaches in the building as they prepare for Thursday’s game vs. Carolina.

Given the current status of the relationship between Bell and the Steelers, it would not be a surprise if he just showed up without giving anyone a heads up. Bell has to report to the team by next Tuesday if he wants to be eligible to play in 2018, but that will not stop the Steelers from being able to make life difficult for him again next offseason.
In Bell’s absence, James Conner has rushed for 706 yards and is averaging an impressive 4.7 yards per carry. He has also caught 38 passes for 379 yards. Even if Bell does report, it will be interesting to see how much the Steelers utilize him.
