Mike McCarthy is not the only new addition in Pittsburgh who has some hardware.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing veteran defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day to a two-year, $11 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Friday. The deal for Joseph-Day comes with $6 million in the 2026 NFL season, Schefter adds.

Joseph-Day, 30, was originally a sixth-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in 2018 (No. 195 overall) and went on to win Super Bowl LVI with them in the 2021 season. He then signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency before the 2022 campaign but lasted just under two seasons with them before being cut.

After a brief two-game stint to close out the 2023 campaign with the San Francisco 49ers, Joseph-Day then signed with the Tennessee Titans in 2024. He had spent the last two seasons with the Titans, posting 41 combined tackles, 2.0 sacks, and a fumble recovery in 2025 while also appearing in all 17 games.

Joseph-Day officially clocks in at 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds. He is primarily known as a run-stopper, which could really benefit a Pittsburgh team that was a middling team at stopping the rush last year, allowing 113.1 yards per game on the ground.

The Steelers, a 10-7 team in 2025, have had a quality offseason in other regards as well. Most notably, they made a trade earlier this week for a former 1,000-yard wide receiver.
