Steve Spurrier gets ring for winning AAF
The AAF never completed its inaugural season, but don’t tell that to Steve Spurrier.
Spurrier’s Orlando Apollos had the best record in the league at 7-1 before the season was cancelled. The cocky coach declared his team the league champions upon the cancellation. Now he has the ring to prove it.
According to WFTV’s Joe Kepner, former Apollos employees presented Spurrier with an AAF championship ring on Friday night.

Though Spurrier declared his team the champs, he received some pushback from Rick Neuheisel, whose Arizona Hotshots handed them their only loss. Neuheisel’s squad was among the three teams tied for second with a 5-3 record.
Congratulations to Spurrier on a nice close to his coaching career.
