Su’a Cravens says concussions have left him with impaired vision
Washington Redskins linebacker Su’a Cravens made an alarming revelation on Tuesday about concussions leaving him with permanent vision impairment, but there is some question over whether the rookie was being serious.
Cravens, who suffered a concussion in Week 4 and missed Sunday’s game, shared a video on social media showcasing his new eyeglasses.

That wasn’t the scary part. According to Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports, Cravens said in a separate video on Snapchat that his newly-impaired vision is the result of concussions.
“Due to my concussion my eyes have lost the memory to keep track of moving objects, so I have to wear these for the rest of my life,” Cravens said. “So I had to buy these glasses and I’ll be wearing them for a very long time. … Thanks, concussions.”
Head injuries are no joking matter, but was Cravens being sarcastic? While it’s unclear why he would joke that a concussion resulted in damaged vision, a source told JP Finlay of CSNMidAtlantic.com that there is “zero truth” to Cravens’ claim.
Interesting.
In an era where some of the game’s most recognizable legends are warning people against the dangers of football, you would think a player — even a 21-year-old rookie — would know not to lie about something like that. And if Cravens was being truthful, shame on the person who doubts it.
