Teams think John Harbaugh can be pried away from Ravens?

The Baltimore Ravens recently put to rest any talk of John Harbaugh being fired at the conclusion of the season, but there are reportedly some teams that feel the franchise is not all that committed to the head coach.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, some NFL teams believe the Ravens could be convinced to part ways with Harbaugh if they fail to qualify for the playoffs on Sunday. At least one team that is considering making a head coaching change could contact Baltimore’s brass to determine if Harbaugh is available, as the coach is currently under contract with the Ravens through 2019.

The Ravens have played well since Lamar Jackson took over as their starting quarterback, and that is a big reason why the team decided to come out publicly in support of Harbaugh. Baltimore would clinch a postseason berth on Sunday with a win over the Cleveland Browns at home or a Pittsburgh Steelers’ loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

While the Ravens are still likely to make significant changes to their roster after the season, Harbaugh’s job seems safe barring a disaster on Sunday. However, if the team is still unsure about giving him a contract extension beyond 2019, it may be worth it for rivals to inquire about Harbaugh’s availability.
