Terrance Williams’ attorney admits WR lied to police after arrest
Terrance Williams has a lot of explaining to do in the wake of his crash and ensuing arrest over the weekend, and even his own attorney admits the wide receiver was not entirely truthful with police after it all went down.
Williams was arrested early Saturday morning for public intoxication after police found his Lamborghini abandoned near a light pole. They traced the registration to Williams and found him riding an electric bicycle nearby. The 28-year-old was then arrested for public intoxication, and he told police his friend, fellow NFL receiver Kendall Wright, had been driving his Lamborghini at the time of the crash.
Chip Lewis, Williams’ own lawyer, said Thursday that Williams had been with Wright earlier in the evening but was in his vehicle alone when he crashed into a curb. Lewis said he had not yet viewed the police report.
“All I have is what Terrance remembers,” the attorney said, via Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News. “All of that is news to me. Anytime you hit a curve going about 60 mph and he struck his head, I don’t know, but we’re going to find out. I have to do the work necessary when you have an injury like this when you hit your head if there is any head trauma as far as a gap in memory.”
It seems like Williams’ defense is going to be that he suffered a head injury in the crash, but you can understand why police felt he was intoxicated. Here’s some dash cam footage that allegedly shows him face-planting on his bike:

Williams already tried to explain himself with a statement, but his story seems quite hard to believe.
