The New York Giants were decimated at the wide receiver position by injuries on Sunday, and a few blasts from the past would love to provide some assistance.
Four Giants receivers left the team’s game against the Chargers with injuries. Odell Beckham Jr. was carted off with an ankle injury; Dwyane Harris suffered a broken foot; and Sterling Shepard and Brandon Marshall both suffered ankle injuries. That left Roger Lewis as the team’s only healthy receiver.
Here’s what Terrell Owens tweeted in response Sunday:
Hey @Giants let me know if you need an interim wide receiver!

Chad Johnson beat him to it, as he tweeted a “Hey big head” comment at the Giants, which is a slang phrase people use when flirting with someone else.
@Giants Hey big head
— Chad Johnson (@ochocinco) October 8, 2017
Johnson was seemingly going for humor mostly when he sent that tweet. Consider that last year, he pretty much admitted the game had passed him by. The 39-year-old hasn’t played in the NFL since 2011.
Owens is a different story. He said in August he believed he still should be playing in the league.
Something tells us the Giants won’t be reaching out to either player.
