The Houston Texans have lost a defensive starter to a suspension.

Texans defensive tackle Mario Edwards Jr. has been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, the league announced on Monday. The veteran will be eligible for reinstatement after Houston’s Week 10 game against the Detroit Lions.

Edwards, who is in his 10th NFL season, signed a 1-year deal with Houston in March. He has started all six games this season and has 2 sacks, 18 total tackles and a fumble recovery.

The 30-year-old Edwards was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round out of Florida State in 2015. He has spent time with eight different teams since then.
