Report: Texans will pursue Patriots’ Nick Caserio for GM job
The Houston Texans on Friday fired Brian Gaine as GM after one season on the job and will try to make another run at hiring Nick Caserio, according to a report.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero report that the Texans are expected to make Caserio their top target.
One name to watch for the #Texans GM opening: #Patriots de facto GM Nick Caserio. Houston put in for him last time and is expected to do so again, per me and @TomPelissero. We’ll see if the Texans get permission.

Caserio, 43, is the Director of Player Personnel for the New England Patriots. A teammate of Josh McDaniel in college, Caserio joined the Patriots’ organization in 2001 and has served as a wide receivers coach. He has spent most of his time working in personnel and has held his current role since 2008.
The Texans attempted to interview Caserio for their vacancy last year but were denied and hired Gaine.
