Thomas Davis vows to play in Super Bowl despite broken arm
Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis broke his arm during Sunday’s NFC championship game, but he doesn’t intend to let that keep him out of the Super Bowl.
Davis broke his right arm attempting a tackle and didn’t return to the game, which Carolina won in blowout fashion. Despite the fact that he had to hold his right arm up with his left hand while speaking to media, Davis seemed to have no doubt that he’ll be playing in two weeks.
“I’ve got two weeks to heal up,” Davis said, via ProFootballTalk’s Darin Gantt. “Come on, you know me. I ain’t missing the Super Bowl, you know that.”
Davis admitted that he has yet to consult with doctors on a treatment plan, but he’s well aware he’s facing up a once in a lifetime opportunity. It seems pretty crazy that this is even a possibility, but this is a guy who once nonchalantly popped his dislocated finger back into place before making a tackle. I would not doubt him.
