Ryan Tannehill is trending toward sitting out in Week 8 with an ankle injury, and you may be surprised to hear which quarterback the Tennessee Titans are planning to start in place of the veteran.
Rookie Will Levis will start on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons if Tannehill does not play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said on Tuesday that both Levis and second-year quarterback Malik Willis will play if Tannehill is ruled out. Rapoport expects Levis to be the “primary signal-caller” even if he shares snaps with Willis.

Tannehill was carted to the locker room after he suffered an ankle injury during Tennessee’s Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in London. The Titans then had a bye in Week 7.
Willis took over for Tannehill and went 4/5 for 74 yards against Baltimore. He also rushed for 17 yards.
The Titans traded up to select Levis in the second round of the NFL Draft this year. The former Kentucky star did not have a great camp, however, and sat out Tennessee’s last two preseason games with a quad injury. Levis has not been active for any game this season and has instead served as the team’s emergency third quarterback.
