Todd Bowles: Brandon Marshall has ‘slight’ knee sprain
New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall had an injury scare in the team’s 37-31 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night. Fortunately though, it looks like the six-time Pro Bowler was able to avoid disaster.
Jets head coach Todd Bowles said after the game that Marshall is only dealing with a “slight” sprain of his left knee, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.
The 32-year-old Marshall had to exit the game in the second quarter after his knee bent awkwardly underneath him on a rough (and arguably dirty) tackle by Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
That looks bad for Brandon Marshall. He was able to walk off the field https://t.co/1a86gbKLxZ

Amazingly however, Marshall would return on the ensuing drive and finish with nine catches for 101 yards on the evening.
The Jets should consider themselves incredibly fortunate that Marshall, who has been victimized by cheap shots before, managed to escape serious injury. He’ll now have a full nine days to recover before a matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3.
