Donald Trump has referred to Tom Brady as a “very good friend” of his several times in the past few months, and many believe the Republican presidential candidate has been exaggerating about his relationship with No. 12.
Apparently not.
Over the weekend, a photo that showed a “Make America Great Again” — Trump’s campaign tagline — hat in Brady’s locker began making the rounds on Twitter.

Brady was asked about the hat during his weekly appearance on WEEI Tuesday morning, and he confirmed that Trump is his buddy.
Brady said he got the Trump hat through Robert Kraft. "Am I gonna vote for him? That's a good question. Honestly, he's a good friend."

Brady said that he has known Trump since 2002 when he judged a beauty pageant for him. Trump has made it a point to blast NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Brady’s behalf in recent weeks, and some viewed that as a sad attempt at securing votes. They thought the same when Trump sent this congratulatory tweet after Brady won his court case.
A lot of people despise Trump. The number of Brady haters has grown a great deal in the wake of Deflategate. In many ways, the two are made for each other.
