Tom Brady’s panic-inducing social media photo was teaser for Super Bowl ad

Tom Brady shared a photo on social media this week that sent football fans into a frenzy, and it sounds like that is exactly what the picture was intended to do.

The photo Brady posted, which was black and white and showed the quarterback walking out of a tunnel into a stadium, was apparently a teaser for a Super Bowl ad that will air on Sunday. Some had speculated it was a marketing ploy, and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network has confirmed that.

The mystery of the ambiguous photo @TomBrady posted last week will be solved today. Sources tell me and @RapSheet it was a teaser for a commercial that will air during #SuperBowlLIV. #ad #walkingaway? #walkingforward? pic.twitter.com/1D2PmC2Djc

The ominous feel of the photo had fans wondering if it was Brady’s way of hinting he is leaving the New England Patriots. He was sort of walking away in the photo, though he was walking into a stadium that may have been Gillette Stadium. It didn’t help that Brady provided no caption, and Julian Edelman added to the hype with a funny response the next day.

Brady may still leave the Patriots, but there have been some shoddy rumors floating around about his playing future. Fans in New England can breathe another sigh of relief — for now.
