Tom Brady skipping White House visit due to ‘personal family matters’
A lot has been made over the past year of Tom Brady’s seemingly close relationship close relationship with Donald Trump, and the New England Patriots quarterback is not going to give reporters an opportunity to ask him about it in Washington, D.C.
With the Patriots set to visit the White House on Wednesday to be recognized for winning Super Bowl LI, Brady announced in a statement that he will be passing on the trip due to “personal family matters.”

Brady also skipped the White House visit two years ago when the Patriots won their fourth championship, citing a scheduling conflict as the reason. Many believed the four-time Super Bowl MVP made the decision because he did not agree with former president Barack Obama’s policies.
Several Patriots players have already stated that they will skip the White House visit because they do not want to be associated with Trump. Brady shared his thoughts on the decisions of those players back in February, and you can read his comments here.
