Earlier this week we told you that Tony Romo’s wife, Candice Crawford, is pregnant and that the couple is expecting its first child. Romo broke the news at a high school assembly of all places. Please spare us the jokes about Romo fumbling his child or dropping it after it’s born — now’s not the time. Besides, interceptions have become his thing lately.
Anyway, when asked by the media Thursday about becoming a father, Romo said “I’m excited.”
Tight end Jason Witten, who always has Tony’s back on and off the field, thinks his quarterback will make a great father.
“He married a great girl. This is a big part of his life,” Witten said. “Obviously I was excited when I got the word. He’ll do a great job at it.”
Tom Brady played some of his best football after settling down and having a family. Eli Manning is delivering since his wife delivered. Maybe this is the exact step Romo needed to straighten out his career. It’s all about that maturation process, you know?
