Trent Brown fine with Raiders playing him at RT
Trent Brown was one of the Oakland Raiders’ biggest additions of the offseason, which makes the team’s plans for how they will use him a surprise to many.
Brown played left tackle for the New England Patriots last season and performed well enough to be regarded as the top free agent tackle on the market. When the Raiders signed him to a four-year, $66 million deal with over $36 million guaranteed, most thought they would be playing him at left tackle and moving Kolton Miller to the right side. Instead, the Raiders are doing the opposite.
Brown will move back to right tackle, where he also played with the Patriots, and are keeping Miller at left tackle. That works fine for Brown, he said on Tuesday.
Trent Brown said he’s fine with moving back to RT, after playing LT in New England. “I knew they were going to put me where they needed me.”

That’s a good attitude for him to have, but the larger question remains whether the Raiders are making the right decision. Moreover, if Miller continues to struggle at left tackle as he did last year, will they make a change or stick with it? Brown better be prepared to play on either side just in case.
