Trent-Richardson-weight-loss

Trent Richardson seems like a man who is intent on proving that he can still contribute in the NFL, and he has been going through some intense workouts this offseason to help him get there.

Mike McCoy, Richardson’s former Alabama teammate who has been training him over the past several months, recently revealed on Instagram that Richardson has lost 22 pounds and is down to 218 from 240.

For all the people who counted this man out!!! Trust me when I tell you he is war ready, he is in the best shape of his life and a mindset of a King focused on the next territory to conquer! He will shock the NFL this year… Go shine like the star you are my guy!!! #warehousegang #nodaysoff #grindliketherentdue #itsbetterthisway #nfl and yeah that's 240 to 218!!!! @ryromano

We all know the Trent Richardson NFL story, and so far it has been a very sad one. The Cleveland Browns used the No. 3 overall pick on the former Alabama star in 2012, later trading him to the Indianapolis Colts, who gave up a first-round pick to acquire him. Richardson was equally bad in Indy and a non-factor last year when he signed with the Oakland Raiders.

The Ravens held out on signing Richardson for a while and said he needed to get in shape first. While losing weight in itself won’t revive his career, it can’t hurt. We know another former Alabama star who is hoping to accomplish a similar goal in 2016. Best of luck to both.
