Trent Williams fails physical, experiencing discomfort with helmet
Washington Redskins tackle Trent Williams’ health situation has managed to get stranger after he reported to the team.
According to interim coach Bill Callahan, Williams failed his physical. One issue was that Williams, who had a growth on his head removed during the offseason, experienced discomfort while wearing his helmet.
Bill Callahan said Trent Williams did not pass his physical. He said there was discomfort when he had the helmet on. Williams has surgery to remove a growth on his head in offseason.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport put it another way: once it came time for Williams to rejoin practice, it was a no-go.
Update on #Redskins LT Trent Williams. Sounds like it went well with the doctors… then came time to put the helmet on for practice and it wasn’t happening. https://t.co/4jJx9LCjrm

This would fit in with the notion of Williams refusing to play even though he’s ultimately reported to Washington. His contract won’t toll, which is probably a big reason why he showed up, but it doesn’t sound like he has any interest in playing for the team or working with the medical staff.
