Report: Trent Williams has no intention of playing despite reporting to Redskins
Trent Williams reporting to the Washington Redskins on Tuesday does not necessarily mean the offensive tackle is going to be playing any time soon.
According to NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay, Williams has no intention of playing this season.
Source tells me that while Trent Williams has reported to the Redskins, he has no intention of playing this season.

Williams reported to the team after the trade deadline passed and he was not dealt. He made clear before the season that he did not want to play for Washington any longer due to a dispute with the team’s medical staff.
So why did Williams report if he has no plans of playing? If a player misses more than nine games in a season, their contract tolls into the following season, which would have kept Williams under contract with Washington through 2021. Williams could try to do what Jalen Ramsey did and make up an injury that would allow him to get paid but keep him from playing.
This saga will continue.
