Trevor Lawrence takes big step toward playing in Week 16
Saturday provided renewed hope that Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence may be able to play in Week 16 after entering concussion protocol last week.
Lawrence cleared concussion protocol on Saturday and is traveling to Tampa with his teammates, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. That gives the quarterback a real chance of playing against the Buccaneers on Sunday.

This certainly suggests that Lawrence will be starting for the Jaguars in Week 16. He was able to practice on Friday, though coach Doug Pederson still characterized his status for Sunday as a “coin flip.”
Lawrence has yet to miss a game since entering the NFL. There was real concern that the concussion protocol could put an end to that streak, but it appears he will be good to go after all.
