Kyler Murray is making the press rounds at the Super Bowl, but it’s going really poorly for him.
The former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback appeared on “The Dan Patrick Show” Friday, and was asked the inevitable questions about where his future would lie. Murray responded with awkward silence and didn’t even try to answer.
Pretty much everyone roundly condemned Murray for the interview, while others took issue with his posture and attitude as well.
Awkward interview by Kyler Murray on the Dan Patrick Show. I get he is being paid by sponsors to do them, but how was he not better prepared for the obvious baseball/football questions? pic.twitter.com/RfNXaaeT0h

… Kyler Murray with Dan Patrick
The smirk, the awkward silence, the slouching posture and just the overall “What?” demeanor looks REALLY badpic.twitter.com/NNkzGpO6ii

Lol what did Kyler Murray think @dpshow was gonna ask him about? pic.twitter.com/mKrMKOi3p5

Dan handled this well, but if this is the deal, why even do the interview if you're Kyler? https://t.co/TWtZgdocrH

Patrick probably wasn’t expecting an answer to his question, but he couldn’t let Murray get away without asking it, and he probably wasn’t expecting silence either. If you’re Murray, you have to have some sort of stock non-answer prepared about how you’re still considering your future. Nobody would bat an eye. Instead, he’s made himself look foolish.
The reality is that Murray is still undecided. He still has a bit of time to make the call on his future, but if this is how he’s going to handle questions about it, he might be best served avoiding the media until he settles on an option.
