Ty Montgomery reportedly dealing with kidney-related issue
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Ty Montgomery was a surprise inactive for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, and now more details are beginning to emerge about what’s keeping him sidelined.
According to a report by Josina Anderson and Ed Werder of ESPN, Montgomery, who was ruled out shortly before kickoff with an illness, is dealing with a kidney-related ailment. He is said to be doing better though, and the absence has been deemed merely precautionary.

Montgomery, 23, has stepped into a bigger role for the Packers recently, having taken on primary backfield duties thanks to the injuries to Eddie Lacy and James Starks. The Stanford product rushed 9 times for 60 yards in Green Bay’s 26-10 victory over the Chicago Bears in Week 7.
Kidney issues can be tricky, so hopefully the absence is indeed just a precautionary one for Montgomery since the last thing the Packers offense needs right now is another long-term injury.
