At least one reporter does not think tight end Tyler Eifert will be ready for the Cincinnati Bengals’ opener in Week 1 in September.
Bengals reporter Coley Harvey was a guest on Mike Clay’s fantasy football show on SiriusXM Radio Thursday and said he did not expect the tight end to be ready.
On the show, @ColeyHarvey said that he does NOT expect Tyler Eifert to play in Week 1.

A report came out last month saying Eifert had ankle surgery and would be out 3-4 months, putting his ability to be ready for the start of the season in jeopardy, so this latest bit from Harvey is not too surprising.
A first-round pick by the Bengals out of Notre Dame in 2013, Eifert emerged as a terrific red zone threat last season. He caught 52 passes for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. The Bengals would miss his presence if he were to be out any games at the start of the season, especially when you factor in that they also lost wide receiver Marvin Jones to Detroit in free agency.
