Officials reveal cause of Tyreek Hill house fire

Tyreek Hill's house caught fire

Officials have revealed the cause of the fire that occurred Wednesday at the home of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

A spokesperson for the Davie Fire Department told TMZ Sports on Thursday that investigators believe Wednesday’s fire was caused by a child playing with a lighter in a bedroom at Hill’s home. It was not clear if the child was related to Hill or how the flames were actually ignited, but the blaze is being treated as an accident, and no further investigations are ongoing.

No one was injured as a result of the fire, which took place Wednesday afternoon. Hill was at practice when the fire broke out, but was excused early by the Dolphins once they became aware of the emergency.

Property records show that the Southwest Ranches home was purchased by Hill in 2022 for $6.9 million. The extent of the damage was unclear, but there is no reason to believe Hill will not play in Sunday’s must-win game against the Buffalo Bills.
