Vernon Davis kept teammate Vance McDonald from catching first career TD (Video)
San Francisco 49ers tight end Vance McDonald on Monday night literally got his hands on what would have been his first career touchdown reception, but he was unable to secure the catch. The St. Louis Rams can thank Vernon Davis for providing great defense on the play.
Davis, who clearly thought Colin Kaepernick’s pass was intended for him, tried to make a play on the ball and collided with McDonald. Neither player was able to make the catch. It was an honest mistake from Davis, but you could see that McDonald was visibly frustrated.
Wouldn’t you be? McDonald is in his second NFL season and has 10 receptions in his career. He hardly ever gets his hands on the ball, let alone having an easy opportunity to find pay dirt. Davis, on the other hand, has found the end zone 55 times in his career. Share the wealth, bro.
