Video: Kirk Cousins admits to Stefon Diggs he was fooled by Packers’ defense on interception
Kirk Cousins was not at his best on Monday night against the Green Bay Packers and cost his team a with a bad interception in the third quarter, a play during which he got fooled.
The Minnesota Vikings had a first-and-10 at the Green Bay 46 in the third quarter, leading 10-9. Cousins ran a play action fake and went deep to Stefon Diggs, who he thought was open and had a step on the defense. What Cousins didn’t realize is that safety Kevin King was hanging out deep on the other end of the field, making Cousins think Diggs was open and that nobody was around. He fooled Cousins into making the throw and came across the field for the interception.
Speaking on the sidelines after the play, Cousins could be seen telling Diggs that he “didn’t see the backside corner.”

Once up 10-3 early in the second quarter, the Vikings had a chance to reclaim some momentum until that interception. That left Cousins having to answer questions once again about “the narrative.”
