Vince Young backtracks, says DWI arrest ‘just an allegation’
Vince Young was arrested on Monday for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and the former NFL quarterback initially appeared to take responsibility for the incident. However, he has quickly changed his stance.
Following the arrest, Young issued a brief statement on social media apologizing for “letting my family, my friends and my fans down.” The comments certainly seemed like an admission of guilt.

After consulting with a lawyer, Young is now taking a much different approach. While speaking at an autograph signing event over the weekend, Young said he is “not guilty” and has a great attorney who is going to help him fight the allegations.

The details surrounding Young’s arrest definitely made it seem like he was impaired, but there must be something that makes him think he can have the charges dropped. It probably won’t help that he was also arrested for DWI in January 2016 and pleaded no contest.
