Von Miller says playing for Broncos is ‘my identity’

Von Miller

Von Miller dispelled any notion that he wants to depart the Denver Broncos in comments he made Wednesday.

Miller vented his frustration after the Broncos’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in stark terms, making it clear that he was fed up with the organization’s continued struggles. His words led some to think that he was low on patience with the organization and might seek to leave this offseason.

On Tuesday, Miller made it clear that he wants to remain a Bronco and has no plans to leave.

“I don’t like the way some of it was portrayed,” Miller said of his comments, via Troy Renck of ABC 7 Denver. “I don’t want to leave. At all. This is my identity, playing for Broncos. I have no Plan B. That’s why it hurts so much to lose.”

Miller has had a down year himself. He’s tallied just seven sacks, which would comfortably be a career-worst for a full season. He came up in trade rumors earlier this year, but it’s clear he doesn’t want to leave — he just wishes the organization wasn’t in the spot it is in.
