Report: Vontaze Burfict facing four-game suspension for PED violation

Vontaze Burfict

Vontaze Burfict was suspended for the first three games of the 2017 season for an illegal hit during a preseason game, and the Cincinnati Bengals linebacker may find himself ineligible for the first several games of 2018 as well.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Burfict is facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug use policy.

Burfict is one of the most controversial players in football, as he has been suspended and fined numerous times for illegal hits on opposing players. He was able to avoid a second suspension last season when he was ejected and made contact with an official.

Burfict, 27, had 69 combined tackles and a forced fumble in 10 games last season. The Bengals have continued to stand by him despite his poor reputation.
