Wade Phillips really is working overtime to prove that he should be a head coach (or at least a defensive coordinator) in the NFL rather than unemployed.
A day after he favorably compared himself to Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, Phillips backed off in the most creative way.
My surprise was that Jason and I had coached the same number of games. Not the record – time passes quickly -I wish Jason & Cowboys well

Right, Phillips really was surprised that he and Garrett had already coached the Cowboys for the same amount of games. That’s why he also included his much better record than Garrett in his original tweet. But don’t you doubt Phillips.
Here’s why:
If I wanted to compare records I would have chosen our 29-19 & 2 playoffs at Buffalo against records since 2000.

Good point. Wade won double-digit games twice with Buffalo and did not have a losing season in three seasons as their head coach. The franchise has only one winning season since he was head coach and has not made the playoffs since. That’s a much better stat to play, Wade.
