Jason Pierre-Paul was involved in a serious car accident last week that may result in him missing the entire 2019 season, but it does not sound like any type of reckless activity led to the crash.
ESPN’s Jenna Laine obtained a copy of the police report from the accident involving Pierre-Paul, and the officer at the scene concluded that weather and wet conditions were contributing factors in the accident. He did not suspect alcohol or drug use and did not administer a field sobriety test. The officer also noted that the driver was “not distracted.”
Pierre-Paul and one other passenger were in the car at the time of the crash, and theirs was the only vehicle involved. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers say their medical staff is still evaluating the star defensive end, but a report claims he suffered a neck fracture and could miss the entire 2019 season.

When he was with the New York Giants, Pierre-Paul infamously lost a portion of his hand in a gruesome fireworks accident. This would be the second instance where he has to miss significant time due to a non-football injury.
