Wes Welker reportedly works out with Rams

Wes Welker has not played a snap in the NFL this season, but the veteran wide receiver has no interest in retiring. He worked out with another NFL team on Monday.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Welker worked out Monday with the St. Louis Rams. Over the weekend, Welker spoke to Rapoport about how “frustrating” it is that he has not signed with a team in 2015.

“The frustrating part sometimes is you look out there on the field and you see guys who are playing, and you’re like, ‘I should be playing,’” he said. “That gets me a little bit. I love being at home with my kids, but at the same time, you have that itch and you’re looking out there and seeing how you can fit in with this team or that and there’s never really a perfect plan.”

You can read more of what Welker said about his desire to keep playing here.

Welker has visited a few teams for workouts this season, but there has been no indication that he was close to signing anywhere. He said he would be open to the idea of returning to the place where he enjoyed the most success, but that’s unlikely to happen. The 34-year-old recently cracked a hilarious joke on Twitter about not having a job.

The problem with Welker is health, as he suffered several concussions toward the end of his time with the Denver Broncos. You have to wonder if he is better off not playing.
