Zach Mettenberger takes shot at JJ Watt over letterman jacket
As some of you might remember, J.J. Watt took shots at Zach Mettenberger during and after the Houston Texans’ Week 8 win over the Tennessee Titans last year. After sacking Mettenberger, Watt celebrated by acting like he was taking a selfie. He later told reporters that he was taunting Mettenberger for posting selfies on social media.
“Kind of a reminder this is NFL, not high school,” Watt said. “Welcome to the show.”
It took Mettenberger more than eight months to fire back at Watt, but the former LSU star couldn’t resist when the topic arose during an interview with CampusSports.net on Tuesday.
“J.J. had to say it’s a bit high schoolish that I take selfies, and I think he still rags me on Instagram every time he posts a selfie,” Mettenberger said, per Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com. “At the same time, if that’s high schoolish, he got a letterman jacket made — a Texans letterman jacket. That’s pretty high schoolish to me, don’t you say?”
The letterman jackets were actually made by the Texans as a team back in 2012, as you can see in this photo. It was more of a themed road trip than Watt doing it on his own.
Watt responded to Mettenberger with a not-so-subtle tweet on Wednesday morning.
A lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of a sheep. Time to attack the day.

It’s interesting that Mettenberger decided to go on the attack after he initially mocked himself for his selfie antics. If Mettenberger can somehow beat out Marcus Mariota for the Titans’ starting quarterback job, we can’t wait to see what Watt has in store for him this season.
